Sessions can be on location, or in my home studio. A regular session will last about 60-90 minutes. Newborns require some special attention, and will run longer. I will allow time for feeding and soothing between shots. For details please request a newborn information packet online, or contact Suzanne at (214) 856-0704 mailto:[email protected]
Pricing
A regular weekday session in 2016 will have a $125 sitting fee. This includes up to one child and two adults, and is due within seven days of booking to reserve your appointment. This non-refundable retainer covers only the artist's time and creativity. Prints are available beginning at $35. There are a variety of packages and wall collections available. Packages start at $99, for a single pose set of gift prints. Wall collections can be printed on many types of products including canvas wraps or metal stand-outs. I would love to help design a gallery or wall display to fit perfectly in your home. If you have some special ideas in mind, please send me an email at mailto:[email protected] and let's chat about your plans.
Newborn sessions can be booked individually, or grouped into a package with maternity and/or first year sessions. If you would like to know more about my "Beautiful Baby: First Year" plan, please sign up to receive a pdf booklet right in your inbox. This will explain some of the benefits and details of newborn portrait sessions as well.
Feel confident when booking your appointment-you have my personal 100% guarantee. You will be thrilled with your final portraits, or simply receive a refund.
I am currently booking appointments for Weekday sessions between the hours of 9-1.
F. A. Q.
Will you sell us the digital files? Web-sized files of your purchases are certainly available for you to share with friends and family online. I will sell printable digital files, with certain limitations. Please contact me if you are interested, and we can work out an agreeable arrangement.
When should I book a newborn or maternity session? Soon! I like to see maternity clients in the 7th or 8th month-before posing becomes too uncomfortable. Newborns must be photographed within the first two weeks of life-preferably between days 5-10. I take a limited number of newborn clients, based on due dates. We will coordinate together towards the end of your pregnancy to be ready for the big day. I suggest calling for appointment availability in your second trimester.
What if I can't make my appointment? If you find that you will be unable to make your appointment, please call a.s.a.p. to reschedule. The retainer collected when an appointment is scheduled is not refundable. However, I will work with you to reschedule as quickly as possible.
Can you take my [braces, freckles, pimple, scratch, double chin etc.] off in the final photograph? Well, it depends. The technical answer is 'yes.' Each final image will be fully edited for a professional looking result. Photoshopping and retouching can be a touchy subject. I will always remove a scratch, and smooth out skintones. Babies often have bumps (baby acne) or bruises or little fingernail scratches which I will usually remove unless you ask me not to do so. I will also help pose you in the most attractive position and light, use angles that slenderize, and remind you to lift your chin. These things will go 90% of the way toward getting the type of portrait you will love, and avoiding the type of shot that makes you cringe. I want your portraits to show the very best side of the real you. Working with new mommies, it is especially important for me to help pose and light well, to give you the best results. My general rule would be to remove anything that is not a permanent part of you or your child. Beyond that, just ask before you book your session :)
What if my baby is fussy? Newborns are wonderful subjects. They are often sleeping for large parts of the day-which is what we want during a newborn session. This is one of the main reasons we schedule this during the first two weeks of life. If your baby is fussy, we can take a break so that you can comfort or feed your little one. I have many techniques for calming fussy babies. Many times, it just takes patience. I have several tips in my Beautiful Baby information which can help you prepare for the session to make sure it goes as smoothly as possible.
